During the long MLK weekend, we headed to the mountains for Winter Retreat. The theme this year was 316, an in-depth look at the iconic verse John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Each day was packed with plenary sessions, in which Pastor Daniel pieced apart the verse and looked at it bit by bit. The day was also filled with moving testimonies, workshops such as Common Questions about God, Common Questions about the Church, and Reclaiming Reflection in the 21st Century. There was also a Brothers' and Sister's Time, in which many students were able to get very vulnerable with each other.
We also had a lot of down time between sessions where we could hang out and enjoy the beautiful nature all around us. Many people took advantage of the archery range, zip lining, and the big fields for sports.
It is amazing to see how God works in each of our hearts and continues to beckon us closer to Him, to make that leap of faith to trust Him again and again with our lives.
Praise God for the many significant decisions that came out of this retreat!
